Nursery School
From Humble beginnings, our school has developed into a fully fledged pre-nursery for the under privileged. With over 60 children attending each day, our four teachers, aided by a group of volunteer helpers, provide learning in the basics of reading, writing and developing social and life skills. Uniform, books and a Mid-day meal is also provided to the tiny tots, along with some extra-activities. Our main aim is to nurture self confident, articulate and socially adjusted young people.
Many of our students go on to continue their education in good schools with full and part scholarships given by the DCWA members and freinds.
Centre for special needs
Recognising a need in the local community, the Committee opened a Clinic in 1998 aimed at children with special needs. Since its inception, the Clinic has helped over 60 children with both rehabilitation and integration into special and regular schools around Delhi, including our own pre-nursery.
To ensure expertise, we actively engage the services of a Psychologist-Counsellor, Speech Therapist, Drama and Music Therapist and Special Educators. Further we work to help and counsel parents by providing advice and training on supporting a special needs child.
Aid has been given to children with delayed development, autistic behaviour, hearing impairments, physical disabilities and emotional problems.
