Vocational Skills

Vocational training is an integral part of DCWA’s core work areas. The skill building programmes offered by us equip learners to be empowered and self-sustainable.

Young, and not-so-young adults from less privileged sections of society are trained, for a very nominal fee. Our programmes impart the skills and temperament required to succeed in a job or to be self-employed.

At the vocational training centre, young adults are trained in the following courses:

Hospital Attendant Training Programme (HATP)

Basic Tailoring Course

Beauty Training Course

Course in Computer Skills

Hospital Attendant Training Programme

The programme takes students through the basics of anatomy and patient care. At the end of six months, they are certified and equipped for employment in hospitals and homes. This certificate also makes them eligible for admission to regular courses in nursing.

Basic Tailoring Course

A basic course in tailoring skills, on completion of which the students are given a formal certificate.

Beauty Training Course

The beauty training course is for a period of 6 months and teaches students the basics of beauty care and hair styling. A certificate is awarded on completion.

Course in Computer Skills

A 4 – month certificate course where basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and internet usage are taught, to develop a foundation for young adults.
